Feedback for Animatic Film
My partner and I showed a short clip that was consisted images of our storyboard (that showed the different camera shots and angles) and sound effects that would be included within the scenes. So the class would have a vivid idea of my horror film opening.
Example of storyboarding- After showing my clip to the class, I had a wide range on positive and negative feedback. The positive feedback was uplifting as the class said that my clip was clear and they understood what was going on in the plot and I used a variety of camera shots and angles, also they said that the sounds and the timing in my film were thought thoroughly and it proved that I put effort into making the anamatic film effective.
However, the class stated that my film was too short and I need to make sure that I meet minimum 2 minutes- maximum 2 minutes 30 seconds as my anamatic film was just over a minute.
Also, it was said that the sound effect of footsteps were repeated too much during the film and it may become boring and dragging for the audience to follow.
The negative feedback was motivating as it made me want to improve my horror opening.
Here is my animatic film for you to view yourself...

Sites and Locations for my horror film - Ominous
The first shot for my horror opening (Ominous) is to be set at Lambeth North Tube Station, this would be an establishing shot to set the scene and to show the audience where it will take place.
The next location is near Lambeth North station and it is at Lambeth Palace Gardens pathway/alleyway. This location is threatening at night because it is really dark as the trees crowd around the pathway. It also has the church at one side of the alleyway and the graveyard at the next side. This sets the scene for spookiness and isolation.
Here are a variety of pictures to show where the victim will be walking through the eerie, isolated alleyway.
Here is a picture of the bed where the victim will be sleeping at the end of the opening. It will be dark, but there will be a dim light so the camera could capture the action.
This is a side view of the long hallway of the vitcim's front door. This is her safety zone when she escapes from the villian, but it won't be her safety zone for long...
This hallway is frightening as it's long and the front door is big which would create the atmosphere to be even more creepy as the door is not a typical homey, comfortable small door, which would make the audience acknowledge that the setting is unsafe.

Analyzation Of An Eastenders Episode
The kind of characters that appear in this episode was teenagers (Ben and Lola etc), an asian family (The Masoods (to generalise different cultures)), a gay couple (Christian and Syed) and single mum (Roxy) and party people (Kim).
I do respond emotionally for some characters in Eastenders because the producers, writer or directors always zoom upon the character's face so the audience could get their genuine emotion, which is very effective because it makes it clear on what emotion the character is feeling e.g. remorse, sad, gulity, angry etc. And in this particular episode of Eastenders, I felt sorry for Christian and it was resultant because the close up camera shot lasted for a longer period than other shots so the audience could get a view on how Christian is feeling.
I don't think all audiences respond in the same way to the characters because each character in Eastenders is different (as in culture, background, ethncity, gender, morality etc) therefore each member of the audience would relate to each character differently. For example, in Christian's situation, a gay member of the audience might relate to him more because they share the same sexuality. It is very practical that Eastenders did that as it would attract more of a range of target audiences and not just one specific social group or class.
I do believe, the producers, writers and /director is trying to get me to respond in a particular way to the characters because they wanted to create an emotional atmosphere by making the scene silent so we could only concentrate on the character's image and their true emotions.
The characters are very realistic because the cast are from different ethnicity, gender, cultures etc which would generalise to a diverse range of the society. Also, the characters are realistic because the writers make the characters go through real life situations, that could help a member of the audience that is going through it, For Example, one of this month's main stories is from Tanya who has breast cancer, and other patients who are suffering from breast cancer could relate to her.
